Barcelona

Welcome back everyone!  In the June of last year I went away for a girly holiday to the Costa Brava with my friend. Luckily for me, Barcelona is only an hour or so away by bus so I decided to take a trip and visit one of my all-time favourite places (and restaurants) for the third year in a row!  Beautiful Barcelona I remember the first time I visited Barcelona in June 2014, I absolutely fell in love with it. It's got everything you could possibly want on a holiday, a fantastic beach, incredible architecture, great nightlife, wonderful scenery, mountains.. you name it!  The food was also a huge highlight, I am a big foodie and an even bigger fan of picky food so tapas was an instant hit. We found this amazing tapas restaurant, opposite the Palau de la Musica, called Tosca. It's great because it does all the traditional Spanish dishes such as the Patatas Bravas and also some less traditional dishes such as vegetarian lasagne (both of which are tried a...

Copenhagen

Image
Welcome again all. So this was my first destination in 2016 and what a place to start. My friend suggested Copenhagen after watching The Danish Girl and I was happy to go with the flow, it was somewhere I hadn't even thought of before.  We met at the pub one evening and over a glass of Pinot or two, scoured the BA website for deals. We decided on 4 nights and chose the boutique Hotel Skt Annae, located near the Nyhavn or 'New Harbour'.  Our flight was booked for 7am, so we set off for London Heathrow around 4am, making sure there was plenty of time for breakfast and a browse. I was very excited having never been to Heathrow before and Terminal 5 did not disappoint.  With no delays we boarded our flight and in just under two hours we landed into Copenhagen. A useful bit of advice- the Copenhagen Card is worth every penny, it included all of our transport for our trip and entry into so many attractions. We activated ours at the airport and boarded the train into the city...

The work-travel balance

Image
Welcome everyone!  Thank you for stumbling across my brand new blog. I have two passions in life, travel and writing, so it made sense to put the two together and attempt to write about the places I have been to and the places I plan on visiting. Over the past two years my interest in travelling has intensified greatly and I find myself with constant itchy feet and an urge to go somewhere new. Unfortunately, life gets in the way and there's a vicious cycle of needing money and therefore needing to work in order to go and explore new places.  I have been lucky over the past couple of years to have found a work-travel balance that enabled me to work full-time but to also go away every couple of months to new destinations. Some of the trips were just weekends, others a little longer but each of them served their purpose of exploring new parts of this world. I hope you enjoy the posts to come, feedback will be greatly appreciated ☺ ☡↬
